Young Actors Theatre at Birmingham Children's Theatre
announces auditions for
Disney’s Aladdin Jr. (Roy Hudson DIRECTOR)
What: Young Artists ages 8-18 will participate in a performance intensive and rehearsal process which will end with a full scale production of Aladdin Jr. on the Birmingham Children’s Theatre’s stage at the BJCC
When: Tuesday, March 1, 2016 4:00pm- Sign In FOR YOUNG ARTISTS.

Where: Birmingham Children’s Theatre 2130 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd N Birmingham, AL 35201 All Auditions will be held in the Birmingham Children’s Theatre’s rehearsal hall.
Park on 19th Street North, enter the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center and come down the large set of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, take a left and come to “Backstage Door 2”. Signs will be posted to point the way.
What to Bring:
• A 60 second memorized monologue
• 30 seconds (16-32 bars) of a musical theatre song. Your song will be a capella.
• Headshot and resume.
Rehearsals and Performances:
The process for the rehearsals will be like that of a summer performance intensive. All cast will be called each day. When not in scene, music, or choreography rehearsals, Young Artists will work with professional actors and instructors in character building, accents or vocal work, movement work and other key elements that will help them become stronger performers.
At the end of three weeks, they will have rehearsed the show and will perform Aladdin Jr. Rehearsal/Intensive hours are 9:00am-3:00pm. Rehearsals are held Monday through Friday June 20-July 7. The theatre will be dark on Monday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. Final dress rehearsal will be Thursday, July 7.
The Show opens at BCT on Friday, July 8 and runs through Sunday, July 17.
Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:30pm.

Missed an Audition Date?
Adult Actors interested in BCT who have missed the audition date, or are between audition dates, may still submit information to be included on our mailing list for audition announcements. Children Auditioning must be available during weekdays to rehearse and perform. BCT accepts auditions from both Home School children and public school children. Public School children MUST obtain permission from their administrators to miss school during the rehearsal period and run of the a BCT show.
Young Actors Theatre shows are after school hours. This allows every child to have an opportunity to perform on the BCT stage.
