Audition Announcement for BCT’s Youth Production of
The Spongebob Musical: Youth Edition

Birmingham Children’s Theatre will be holding auditions for our BCT Players Youth Production of THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 from 9AM to 3PM.

Who: Birmingham Children’s Theatre

What: Auditions for The Spongebob Musical: Youth Edition. Directed and Choreographed by Allie Nichols.
PLEASE NOTE: Auditions are for actors aged 13 -18 years.

When: Saturday, May 18th, 2024 from 9AM to 3PM

What to Bring/Prepare:

• A 30 second memorized monologue

• 16 bars (approximately 30 seconds) of a song.

• Headshot and resume

• Movement clothes for dance call (to follow lunch)

Rehearsal & Performance Schedule:

• Music & Choreography rehearsals start May 29th, 2024

• Full Rehearsals: June 3rd - June 26th, 2024 (Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 4:00pm)

• Performances: June 27th, 28th & 29th, 2024

• Performances times 7:00pm on the 27th & 28th /2:30 & 7:00pm on June 29th

• For Birmingham City Students: Our schedule is designed so you can seamlessly join our rehearsals after your last day of school, starting June 5th, and easily get caught up!

BCT’s Summer Camps and Youth Performance will be held at Shades Valley High School. (6100 Old Leeds Rd) This month-long performance intensive is for teens who want to take their theatre production and performance skills to the next level. Teen artists will learn from and work alongside industry professionals to bring this fully produced, spectacular musical to stage.

Students who are cast will be required to sign up for the month-long performance intensive and pay the registration fee, which is $675*. Students who are registered with a paid deposit prior to auditions are guaranteed a role.

Birmingham Children's Theatre hires actors through local and video auditions, as well as attending the Southeastern Theatre Conference each year. Local auditions will be posted to this page when available. You must be 18 years or older to be compensated as an actor.

Students are welcome to audition for our season as well, but must be available during school hours for rehearsals and performances. Youth auditions will be listed separately.
