Cora Goes Camping

Cora has been spending a lot more time indoors than she's used to. With some help from Dad, Teddy, and a little imagination, Cora goes on a camping adventure in her own backyard. BCT is extremely excited to bring you this BRAND NEW digital content as we all continue to stay safe and shelter in place. We hope you enjoyed our puppet show today! In an effort to bring theatre to the homes of children in Birmingham and beyond, Birmingham Children's Theatre will be producing a series of original puppet shows. Each Wednesday at 9am, a 10-15 minute show written, performed, filmed, and edited by the BCT team will premiere on our Facebook page and here, on our website.

Cora Goes Camping is inspired by a real life camping trip. Think of three things you love to do that might make a good story.
All stories have three parts: a beginning, middle, and end. In the beginning we meet the characters, in the middle they are given a problem, and in the end they have solved that problem one way or another (sometimes the characters win, sometimes they lose, usually they are changed in the process).

Stories inspired by real life sometimes have imaginary parts too. What parts in Cora Goes Camping could be real? What parts do you think are imaginary? Are there imaginary things you can add to your real life story? Maybe it is an imaginary creature, an event that didn’t happen (but would be cool if it did), maybe you change the ending of the story.

Write out your new, inspired by real-life story! You could even turn it into a play or puppet shows.

Have a great idea for a story? Email us and perhaps we’ll have a chance to work with YOU on a one-of-a-kind world-premiere puppet show!
