A NOTE TO CAREGIVERS
Dot and Ziggy’ is designed specifically for tiny bodies that need to get the wiggles out.
It might not feel “theatre-y,” but we want kids to move, dance, sing, explore, create, and play along with the show. We encourage you to let them explore this space and this story in whatever way they want — we aren’t afraid of extra noise or interruptions.

If you or your child needs a break, please check out our new Quiet Room. Just head out the theatre and it’s immediately to the right.

Dot and Ziggy runs approximately 45 minutes with no intermission.
You are invited to stay after the show and continue to play and explore.

Produced by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences

It’s the Day of the Show, Y’all!

When we opened this show on August 26th, I just felt overwhelmed with emotion. After 18 months of not having audiences in our spaces, to welcome those first children back into our theatre felt simply AMAZING! We are so, so, SO glad to have you back at BCT.

We’ve stretched our creative muscles a lot of ways over the past year and Dot and Ziggy is the beautiful result of some reimagining of how we reach the children of our community. While BCT has always offered shows that toddlers will enjoy, we haven’t before offered a show made especially FOR them. Nationally, we’ve seen an increase in theatre for the very young shows over the past few years and I am delighted to bring these offerings to our theatre.

We’re entering a new era at BCT and it seems to fitting to start this season with a show that celebrates creative imagining and reminds each of us to look at the world through the eyes of a child with wonder, enthusiasm, and a playful spirit.

Rebecca received her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated Cum Laude from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. Thank you to BCT’s amazing staff of artists and administrators for their tireless work keeping theatre alive in the past year; to Kim, Ruby, Theo, and Zoe for their willingness to play and explore through a child’s eye; and most of all, Charles and the Yeagerlings for their love, encouragement, and creative spirits.

UP NEXT AT BCT!

A “tail” of two shelter dogs: Axel is rough and tumble, Buddy is friendly and eager. Axel knows his way around the kennel, while Buddy is unsure in this new environment. Seemingly two dogs from two different worlds, can they find a way to work together to find a new home? Ruff! loveably tackles themes of identity, self-esteem and confidence, friendship, and the challenge of stepping forward without fear.

Ruff! is great for ages 5 - 10, and plays in our Wee Folks Theatre.

Directed by Najah Ali.
Featuring Nate Blakley and Rebecca Yeager

Saturday Public Performances at 10:00am:
September 25th, October 16th, & October 30th
