E.L.V.E.S. F.A.Q.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

E.L.V.E.S. is a “kids-only” experience. It is designed for young audiences aged 4 – 12. Parents, guardians and/or caregivers are welcome to view the show as their child participates. One ticket per connected device; Limit to two tickets per order. Although more than one child can participate, the experience is designed for one to two children per device but can be just as enjoyable with larger families with a little additional set-up time and creativity.

When will I get my Zoom Access code? You will receive your access code 48 hours before your scheduled performance date and time. If you are within that window and have not received a code, email us HERE.

How do I know what I need for the show? You can always find the list of items and set-up instructions HERE. If you feel like you are missing communication from the North Pole, check your Promotions, Spam, or Junk folders. If you still feel you are missing information, you can always email us HERE.

What age is best for this show? We recommend ages 5 - 10. E.L.V.E.S. is a kids-only experience, so children should be old enough to participate on their own with little additional assistance.

How long is the show? The show time may vary based on how it unfolds with your specific audience, but in all instances the show should be less than one hour (it’s written to be 50 minutes).

Why are tickets limited? E.L.V.E.S. is an interactive adventure for youth and we want to make sure all are able to participate equally. With 10 participants in each performance means each child can be seen on screen and our elves can interact with them by name throughout the show.

If I have two children who want to participate, do they each need their own ticket? Each ticket gives access to one device. It is up to you if you would like each child on their own device, or if you prefer they share a screen. If two children are participating on the same screen, you only need one ticket.

If I have three children (or more) who want to participate, how do we best make sure everyone can enjoy the experience? We recommend one child per device, and at most two to each device. We do ask (but do not require) an additional $5 ticket for each child past the first two.

For each participating child you’ll want to hide the necessary items, so more children means more creativity. If you aren’t sure what the best fit is for your family, email us at boxoffice@bct123.org and we’ll be happy to help!

Why are tickets limited to 2 per order? Because of how much we need to communicate with all participants prior to the show to make sure all the magic parts come together, we need to exercise a little extra control over making sure each participating household is receiving these communications. If you need more than 2 tickets for your household, we apologize for the inconvenience but you will need to place two different orders. If you want to make sure your child is participating on the same date as their friends, we recommend you coordinate your ticket purchases. When you select a date and time you will be able to see how many tickets are still available for that date to help determine if there is room in the performance for everyone.

Can I purchase a ticket to give as a gift? Absolutely! If you are purchasing a ticket as a gift, we may need to get a different email address to communicate the set up instructions to (you will enter your own email in the billing details section). Just email boxoffice@bct123.org with your confirmation email/ticket and let us know the email address of who will be completing the around-the-home prep work.

My child is shy - how much participation is required? The show is as interactive as each individual makes it. Most of the interactive moments are group responses or individual looking for clues around your home - we never put any child on the spot to “perform.” Audience members who want to sit and quietly enjoy the show are welcomed and, we’re sure, will have a great time!

How much with the items list cost? We have designed the list to be items you can find around your home, and all items can be purchased for $10 or less. It is up to you if you want to spend more than that on some of the special treats.

How extensive is the setup for this show? You can take a look at the list and setup instructions here. All items should be gathered or purchased a couple of days in advance to make sure you have everything you need. Setup will take 20 - 30 minutes, and should happen (in secret!) as close to the show time as possible.

Why do I need to hide items around the home? As our story unfolds, the elves are going to need the help of the kids to find clues (the items) around the house to help solve problems and get Christmas back on track! It is important to have those items set up as instructed in order to maintain the magic of our story.

What kind of “special treat” do I need? To reward the kids for their help and hard work in solving those puzzles, the elves are going to “send” each child a small treat that they will be instructed to look for the next morning. We do not specify what kind of treat that is, so it’s up to you! This can be candy or treats, a book, a paint set or coloring book, a small toy, a gift card, or any small item you know your child will enjoy. These items should be wrapped and left in a place the child will find them the next morning, completing the magic of our story!

Can I watch the show with my child? This show is “for kids only” and designed specifically to encourage teamwork with the other participating children as well as creative problem solving. Of course you are able to watch the show with your child, and for younger audiences it might be a good idea to stay near by in case they are confused by any of the clues (though our elves are also there to help and encourage) — but we highly recommend you let your child take the drivers seat on this experience!

Is it possible to watch the show if you don’t have a child participating? We know grandparents and other relatives might want to enjoy this experience as well, and we can make that happen! Please do not buy a ticket for a view-only adult. Email boxoffice@bct123.org with the date of the show and the child you know who is participating, and we will help you out.

What if I need to change our performance date? Please email boxoffice@bct123.org

Parents and guardians, you are accomplices on our journey to the NP! Prior to the show, you will receive an email with a list of everyday items that you will turn into magic to help bring this adventure to life. Specific instructions will be provided for the setup, and these items may cost up to $10 (total) - you probably already have them around the house! And remember, shhhhh.
